Talking of Fanfarlo… they have just announced details of 'Reservoir', their debut album, which will be released through their own label on September 28th 2009.

Named after a Baudelaire novella, Fanfarlo have previously released 5 singles on some of the UK’s most credible single labels, including Moshi Moshi, Fortuna Pop & White Heat. Centered around writer and vocalist Simon Balthazar, who grew up in suburban Gothenburg, the group is completed with Cathy Lucas (violin, keyboard, vox), Justin Finch (bass), Amos Memon (drums) & Leon Beckenham (trumpet / keyboard), and they're currently based in London.

The 11-track album was produced and recorded by Peter Katis (The National, Interpol) at his home studio in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The track-listing for the album is as follows:

1. I’m A Pilot
2. Ghosts
3. Luna
4. Comets
5. Fire Escape
6. The Walls Are Coming Down
7. Drowning Men
8. If It Is Growing
9. Harold T Wikins, or How To Wait For A Very Long Time
10. Finish Line
11. Good Morning Midnight

Initially made available as a download for $1 earlier this year via the band's website, and also as a very limited & lavishly packaged CD box exclusively through the Rough Trade shops, (where it sold out of its run of 1000 copies in less than a week), 'Reservoir' will now receive a traditional release. The new version will be available on vinyl, CD, and a special limited edition copy, which comes beautifully packaged in a linen box and features expanded artwork, a board game and a second disc featuring 8 additional songs.

Aside from the Swn show, Fanfarlo will tour the UK this Autumn - more details coming very soon!
