Cambridge Folk Festival announces first headliners for 2018

The festivals are a bit slow out of the block this year but Cambridge Folk Festival has followed up announcing Rhiannon Giddens as its guest curator this year with the first set of acts, including some headliners.

Leading the way are country legend John Prine & ‘punk poet laureate’ Patti Smith. In addition, a UK Festival exclusive is singer/songwriter Janis Ian, along with Rosanne Cash, Kate Rusby & FriendsBeth Nielsen Chapman, Eliza Carthy and The Wayward Band plus blues legend Eric Bibb.

Alongside the already announced Giddens are a bunch of other acts including TDF faves Darlingside and John Moreland, are St Paul & the Broken Bones, Songhoy Blues, Elephant Sessions, John Smith, The Pierce Brothers, Irish Mythen, Tamikrest, The Shee, Peatbog Faeries, Gordie MacKeeman And His Rhythm Boys, Damien O’Kane and Ron Block, The East Pointers, Darren Eedens And The Slim Pickins’, National Youth Folk Ensemble.

It's a cracking start and the festival is held in Cambridge on 2nd to 5th August 2018. Tickets and all details are available on the festival website.
