Beverley Knight announces her sixth studio album!

To celebrate the launch of her sixth studio album, 100% later this year, UK soulstress, Beverley Knight is to release a taster track as a free download.

Album taster track ‘Every Step’, produced by Jam and Lewis, to be made available as free download

UK soul queen Beverley Knight is shortly to complete work on her 6th studio album, entitled “100%” and due for release on September 14th 2009. The multi award winning star has worked with a fine array of collaborators and producers to complete a body of work that is sure to be widely acknowledged as the best album of her career so far.

The first taster from the album, “Every Step”, co-written and produced by Grammy Award winning legends Jam and Lewis (Janet Jackson, Mary J Blige, Usher) is currently making waves as a promo only cdr, and will be available to download for free for 14 days only, exclusively from her website from July 6th.

Following 2007’s critically acclaimed Music City Soul album, forthcoming set ‘100%’ represents a shift in style. Knight comments: “The last album was like a concept album –it was me revisiting some of my inspirations from the classic Southern Soul era. This new album has an altogether more contemporary feel. I worked with some fantastic people, legends even, and it has inspired me to make what I consider to be some of the best music of my career. It’s certainly the most fun I’ve ever had making a record.”

100% sees triple Mobo award winning Knight working with illustrious former writing partners Guy Chambers (Robbie Williams) and Jimmy Hogarth (Adele, Duffy) as well with multi Grammy Award winning legends Jam and Lewis, Ivor Novello winning song writer Amanda Ghost (Beyonce, Shakira) and acclaimed song writer Jamie Hartman, among others. Producers include hot UK duo The Rural (Gym Class Heroes, Beyonce) and award winning production partnership Bacon & Quarmby (Sugababes, Finlay Quaye). The album also features a duet with soul legend Chaka Khan.

September also sees the launch of Knight’s cosmetics range for dark skin: “K by Beverley Knight”, to be launched exclusively in Selfridges stores and rolled out to John Lewis and other stores afterwards. She comments: “Like the majority of black and dark skinned women I found there wasn’t any range that provided the full range of colours I needed. I was so excited to be offered a chance to work on my own range of products.”

A new album, a cosmetics range and a UK tour in November - details to be announced very soon - 2009 is set to be Beverley Knight’s year – 100%.

“100%” is released on Hurricane Records September 14th 2009.
