Benicàssim '09 headliners: Oasis, Kings of Leon, Franz Ferdinand & The Killers

Forget the wellies and pack the sun cream! Those wishing a festival experience with (almost) guaranteed good weather might be best heading to July's Benicàssim event in Spain. Headliners for all four nights have now been announced.

From the press release:

Benicàssim are proud to announce that The Killers are the latest band confirmed to headline the 4 day event in Spain this year. The Electro Indie Rockers from Las Vegas, who have sold over 12 million albums to date, will be in good company as they join Oasis, Franz Ferdinand, Kings of Leon and Paul Weller in what is going to be the greatest festival of 2009. The headliners are as follows:

Oasis, Thursday, July 16

Kings of Leon, Friday, July 17

Franz Ferdinand, Saturday, July 18

The Killers, Sunday, July 19

In addition to these bands, Paul Weller, the one-time leader of The Jam, has also confirmed and will be performing on the Friday, July 17th along with the Kings of Leon

With The Killers confirmed, Benicàssim now boasts four incredibly amazing headliners for its fifteenth edition. The four-man band from Las Vegas will perform for the first time at the Festival, promoting their still-hot album ‘Day & Age’ (2008).

An integral stop on the summer circuit and a firm favourite with European fans, Benicàssim is backed by Vince Power (the founder of the Mean Fiddler and the man behind The Hop Farm Festival). Taking place from July 16th – 19th on the east coast of sunny Spain many are tipping it as the ultimate summer party. Vince stated:

“I’m very pleased to have the Killers headline this year, not only is it their 1st time with us, but they are joining an amazing bill for our 15th Anniversary. This year’s festival is shaping up to be the best in Europe”.

2009 will be an extra special year for Benicàssim as it will be their 15th anniversary. Having delivered a stellar line-up packed with the biggest bands, artists and DJs from across the globe and a plethora of new and exciting on-site events and activities, the organisers have pulled out all the stops to make this one to remember.
