Back in the late '90s, Jason Mozersky was working as a van driver for a Texas gig promoter, shuttling bands back and forth between venues. One fateful day he had that Ben Harper in the back of his van - a captive audience who agreed to listen to his demo.

Harper (born in California, schooled in folk and blues by his family, and signed to Virgin Records since 1994) was blown away. He helped Mozersky' band Wan Santo Conto secure a deal and, when the band split after one album, invited Mozersky to play on his 2006 double album 'Both Sides Of The Sun'. Mozersky brought along his longtime friends drummer Jordan Richardson and bassist Jesse Ingalls to the sessions, and the framework for Relentless 7 was in place.

In the summer of 2008, the four united in the studio to dig deeper into the chemistry born during the 'Both Sides Of The Sun' sessions. The record quickly began to take shape: the vast musical depth and experience of Harper combined with the pure urgency and intensity of an unknown band fighting for its life has become a timeless rock record, a cohesive collection of music that is as raw and unrelenting as it is arrestingly haunting and emotional.

In November 2008 the band debuted their new material on the 'Vote For Change' tour, ending the year with a series of small club shows in famed venues like the Mercury Lounge in NYC. The band will be embarking on a world tour through 2009.

'White Lies For Dark Times' is 2-time Grammy Award winner Harper's tenth studio album for Virgin. His union with Relentless 7 is a match made in rock heaven that has one foot in Harper's past whilst the rest of the body reaches towards the future.
