Attention Whore for Sale

Play Records head honcho Melleefresh and the ubiquitous Deadmau5 deliver another original collaboration that you will undoubtedly have already heard on the hottest dancefloors this summer. Attention Whore is released on Play Records on September 14th.

With Deadmau5 currently riding high on the A-list dance circuit and packing out the world’s top clubs, Melleefresh steps in to bring him back to his scintillating Ibiza-tinged electro roots. A top 40 entry on the Billboard Hot Dance Charts, ‘Attention Whore’ makes good on the promise of this powerhouse combination; a blissfully dirty mix of filthy trashed-out techno and downright sexy electro-house that Play Records has now become infamous for.

‘Attention Whore’ pairs world-renowned club bunny and disco dance diva Melleefresh’s distinctively sexified edgy vocals with Deadmau5’s signature trance groove, and it’s no surprise that the original track has reached iconic proportions throughout the dance arena since its release in 2008. Already favoured on the playlists of some of the world’s top Djs - Pete Tong, Judge Jules, Chris Lake, Kid Dub, Matt Darey, John Acquaviva, Morten Alick, Jonathan Peters, and DJ Sammy, just to name a few – Play Records presents eight remixes that cater to every global dancefloor and keep the fun going for the rest of the summer.

The big-room techno favourite may well be the Phil Chanel mix, which features a great throbbing bassline guaranteed to blow out your speakers and set dancefloors alight for the rest of the summer. The Zoltan Kontes & Jerome Robbins remix immerses ‘Attention Whore’ in a slow-burning house groove for going deep into the night while bringing out the best in Melleefresh’s vocal style. The DJ Zya remix is a trance-inspired party take that pushes Deadmau5’s talent for thumping basslines and hypnotic rhythms to the limit. Additionally, the remixes by Lazy Rich, Mr Wonk, Kaysh, Jon-E and Soundsreal vs J-Ice complete the package.

Melleny Melody aka Melleefresh launched Play Records in 1996 with partner in crime, DJ Spydabrown. Over the years, Play Records has become one of Canada's foremost labels for electro house and an internationally recognised purveyor of "new, fresh and bangin' vibes for the dancefloor.” After discovering a talented DJ by the name of Joel Zimmerman (soon to be Deadmau5) in the bleak club land of Niagara Falls, Melleny brought him to Toronto, put him up at Play Records headquarters and thus began a fortuitous partnership in music.
