Watch Max Jury's new video 'Beg and Crawl'

Ahead of the release of his debut eponymous album, Max Jury has released the video for current single 'Beg & Crawl'. It's one of the highlights from his debut album out on 3 June via Marathon Artists.

Full details on the release below, with a list of upcoming live dates in the UK and Europe, which includes a headline show at London's iconic 100 Club on 26 May.

‘Beg & Crawl’ is an uptempo treasure trove of classic songwriting at its best. The accompanying video was directed by Daniel Brereton, and weaves together beautiful vignettes of a young couple in a somewhat ambiguous relationship.

Max says, “The video follows the shenanigans of two people, attempting to depict that age old dilemma: ‘Are we friends? Are we lovers? Are we anything?’ It was a pleasure to work with Dan again as I am a huge fan of his process and use of colour and film.”

‘Beg & Crawl’ follows hot on the heels of previous single ‘Numb’, which features on the official soundtrack for the upcoming film ‘Me Before You’ (based on the best selling novel of the same name).

The track is a joy to behold live and will be a mesmerising part of his set when Max plays a short run of UK dates end of May including London’s 100 Club May 26th.

Max’s self-titled debut album was recorded in New York with hip hop producer Inflo and a crackerjack band of musicians who regularly play with Alicia Keys and D’Angelo, and in a sleepy North Carolina town with the musical director of a small, local black church. Both these locales helped Max effortlessly bridge gospel and soul with his country roots.

Just 23 years old, Max writes, sings, plays guitar and piano, and has a voice like no other. He’s spent much of the last two years living in London, his adopted second home, after growing up in Des Moines, Iowa. Among his many fans, Mark Ronson says: “Max’s songs and musicianship conjure up so many of my favourite elements of country, soul, gospel and rock ‘n roll. I can listen to his album on repeat.”
