Hailing from South East London, Only Girl, aka Ellen Murphy, has been honing her own brand of soulful, understated pop with soaring R&B infused melodies, since her critically acclaimed 2014 debut 'Feel It'.

With the success of second single 'Remains' under her belt along with two sold-out headline shows and a highly-praised release with long-term collaborators Zero 7, Only Girl returns with the beautifully heartfelt 'Young Blood', released on February 5th. The track is taken from the upcoming 'Young Blood EP', released March 11th via Akira Records & supported by PRS Foundation for Music.

'Young Blood' sees Only Girl build on her unique brand of aching soul-imbued pop, replete with emotive synths, heartfelt, soaring R&B melodies and lyrics that balance beautifully between deeply emotional and comfortably nostalgic. The sucker-punch emotional power of the track is immediately clear from the celestial gospel vocals and heartbeat bass beats, to the devastating opening line; "So the last time you spoke to me, you said to me 'my darling, oh I don't have to leave.'"

To date, Only Girl has picked up support from the likes of Huw Stephens (Radio 1), BBC Introducing, Lauren Laverne (BBC 6 Music), Tom Robinson, John Kennedy & Jo Good on XFM, Dermot O'Leary (Radio 2) and Edith Bowman in ELLE, as well as a whole host of online tastemaker praise from The Fader to Noisey to The 405 and DIY.

"Young Blood is about the ever-changing nature of love throughout a long-term relationship, and the realisation that the love you have with someone after many years together is going to be very different to the love you had when you first met," Only Girl says.

The release will follow a headline show at Electrowerkz on March 1st. This succeeds performances at Glastonbury, Live at Leeds, The Great Escape and support slots with the likes of BROODS & Mt Wolf.
