How long is A Piece Of String?

‘A Piece of String’ is the second single from London based Clock Opera. Further refining the dice and splice methodology of their debut single, ‘White Noise’ (7" vinyl only release on Pure Groove RecordsNov ‘09), it draws on a sonic palette comprised of homemade samples, found sounds, cut-up guitars and domestic appliances. With a subject matter that explores the relationship between a ventriloquist and his dummy, 'A Piece of String' melds soaring vocals with jagged bass and jittering beats into a frenetic crescendo.

With approval coming from ‘The Times’ and ‘The Fly’ 2010 Ones to Watch lists as well as a handful of acclaimed music blogs, Clock Opera has been stealthily building a name for itself amongst the critical music community. Still with only a dozen UK shows under their belt including supporting Marina and the Diamonds on her sold-out UK tour, Clock Opera is attracting fans and followers from all corners of the musical spectrum.

Their debut remix of Phenomenal Handclap Band’s ‘Baby’ is out now on Gomma Recordsand their superb spectral electro remix of ‘Hide Me’ by The Golden Filter shot up the Hype Machine chart. Their latest remix offering comes in the form of Marina and The Diamond's 'I Am Not A Robot' with Neon Gold's Derek Davies hailing it as "one of the most gorgeous tracks you will hear in 2010, or ever."
