Betty Curse – The Garage London

Betty Curse looks like the lovechild of Lydia Lunch and Birthday Party era Nick Cave.
She prowls the stage at London’s Garage while her band blasts out Punk Metal anthems.
This is one of Betty’s first live shows. She looks at home at the London venue, delivering her own brand of “Angst” driven Rock.
The music of Betty and her boys is a cross between radio friendly US Pop Punk and darker alternative bands like Veruca Salt and a Kim Deal led Pixies.
Several of the numbers played have the chance to become hits with the right airplay, including “Girl with yellow hair”,”God this hurts” and current 7″ “Met on the internet”.
A night with Betty’s certainly an entertaining evening as she puts a lot into her performance, reminding me at times of a female version of The Cramps Lux Interior.
I’m sure most of the songs played tonight will feature on Betty’s debut album,I’m actually more interested in what direction her second will take…
You can listen to three tracks on Betty’s My Space page.
“Met on the internet” / “Excuse all the blood” is available now as a 7″ single and digital download.
