Field Day 2016 - Saturday - Victoria Park, London
Festival goers hoping to celebrate Field Day's 10th anniversary on a scorching Saturday were left slightly disappointed, as the heavens opened for large part of the event's duration. Acts playing Victoria Park's Eat Your Own Ears outdoor stage during the downpours may have played to slightly less than hoped, with the performers on display under canvas mid afternoon, like Mabel and Meilyr Jones benefiting from the soaked shelterers.
The rain stayed off for Grime artist Skepta's EYOE set, one of the highlight's of the day, that saw the crowd going crazy, with fellow rapper Little Simz's stint on the Fader stage also a Saturday stand out.
A special mention also goes to Norwich teenagers Let's Eat Grandma, whose buzz heavy early appearance on the Moth stage intrigued, though I may have to give their forthcoming album a few listens before embracing their music fully!
The evening ended on a dry note with a ground shaking, bass heavy headline performance from James Blake, showcasing tracks from his recent album The Colour In Anything, alongside older fan favourites.
