Daughtry - Roundhouse, London
There's no doubt many fans double-dipped when US band Daughtry performed a pair of shows at London’s Shepherd’s Bush Empire back in March to promote current album Baptized, possibly as they had no idea when Chris and his band would return to these shores. It may have come as a surprise to the faithful when another gig in the capital appeared a few months later, this time at The Roundhouse, but many were obviously eager to snap up tickets for third helpings, leading to a sell out show for the radio-friendly rockers.
Even Chris commented that he didn’t expect to be back so soon, but the Roundhouse crowd weren’t complaining as they were treated to an exceptional set featuring the best of the current collection (one of the best commercial rock albums in the last year or so), including ‘Battleships’ and encore track ‘Waiting For Superman’, an exquisite cover in the shape of Chris Isaaak’s ‘Wicked Game’ and Daughtry classics like ‘Home’, ’Feels Like Tonight’ and Fix fave ‘September’. It was certainly a full on show that offered a lot - there was even a marriage proposal during the evening and I believe she said 'Yes'!
