CSS (Cansei De Ser Sexy) - Popstarz - Scala London
Brazil's finest export - CSS (Cansei De Ser Sexy) have returned to the UK's shores to play a wealth of live dates over the next couple of months.
Currently touring as one quarter of the NME's "New Rave " tour the band played a warm up date at London's Scala as part of their Popstarz club night.
When the band arrived onstage lead singer Lovefoxxx was sporting a mask that looked to be made up of two slices of bread with holes poked through, held together by a ripped up carrier bag! As looks go it was an interesting one which Lovefoxxx carried off for the first number.
The band rocketed through a shortish set comprised of tracks from their self titled debut album which is due for a re -release in March.
CSS have played the UK frequently since last summer, including several London shows. They have steadily built up an army of fans that were delighted to see the band in a venue that they have already outgrown. One fan got more than he expected when Lovefoxxx decided to borrow his glasses to wear for a song.Unfortunatly he was blind without them so he wasn't able to see the result!
As always, the band all looked like they were having a great time onstage, with guitarist Luiza playing to the crowd and fellow member Ana happily taking photographs of the audience between songs.
The biggest cheer of the night was kept for the bands single "Let's make love and listen to death from above", with the capicity crowd going mental with drinks and bodies flying everwhere in the pit, ending the evening on a manic note.
CSS are playing their largest headline dates yet in April and have the wonderful Tilly And The Wall supporting them.
That's one double bill that certainly can't be missed!
