The Music Six: B. Traits

Having released her debut single 'Fever', featuring vocals from Elizabeth Troy, last year, producer and BBC Radio 1 presenter B. Traits (AKA Canadian Brianna Price) is set to come onto the radar of a lot more people in 2013, thanks to her covering Annie Mac's Friday and Sunday night shows from May 2013 as Mac goes on maternity leave.

As a result, we thought it'd be the perfect time for the producer to take part in the latest instalment of our cunningly titled series The Music Six, enlightening us to what her favourite six tracks/videos are.

Busta Rhymes - Put Your Hands Where My Eyes Could See

Love Hype Williams, I grew up to most of his videos. This one for Busta is based on the film Coming To America. I loved the concepts and visuals, his videos always stood out to me compared to all of the others I'd see on MTV. The first time I saw Busta's 'Gimme Some More' I freaked and had nightmares for days afterwards!

The Specials - A Message To You Rudy

One of my favourite tunes and videos of all time. The 2 tone vibe and the skanks the guys are doing. They all look like such good mates. I want to be in this video skanking with them!

Prodigy - Breathe

Prodigy's music was my gateway to UK dance music. This song and video in particular. It's one of my all times favourites. I used to terrorise my younger brothers while I'd babysit them. We'd be playing hide & seek, then when I was close to finding them (or I'd just given up), I'd blast this song out the stereo system… they'd come running from their hiding spots screaming!

Breakbot - Baby I'm Yours (feat. Irfane)

I'm a huge fan of homemade creative videos. This stunning video is by Irina Dakeva is composed of approximately 2,000 watercolour paintings. Such a beautiful piece of art.

MIA - Bad Girls

My favourite video in recent times. It's completely bad ass! Nothing like filing your nails while skanking on top of a drifting car.

Missy Elliot - The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)

Another one of Hype Williams' amazing creations. I love the way Hype approached videos with completely unconventional and weird ideas. He wasn't afraid to take chances. Like putting Missy in that shiny black trash bag!
