Introducing our second annual Women in Country & Americana month

Welcome to our second women in country month, this year with added Americana. After last year we realised that a nod to Americana wasn't enough, and that the genre is not only swallowing up artists you'd usually associate with country music, but allowing a much broader spread of voices and topics to be written, sung, and talked about.

Our month-long event of features by and about women in country & Americana doesn't try to be big and glossy, we're not trying to say anything. We're just looking to shine a light on the fantastic music that's coming out of the genres.

So this year we'll have an interview with Nashville's finest songwriter, bar none, Natalie Hemby, we'll talk to the newest American guitar hero Lindsay Ell, Ashley Campbell talks to us about forging her own path, while Erin Enderlin tells us about creating her concept album with little funds, and Lindi Ortega talks about her fight to maintain artistic control. We're still confirming many other fantastic female acts daily, so tune in each day to see who's chatting with us.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
