Festivals 2017: The early TMF preview

We’re only in March but already the UK festival calendar is chock a block with events and lineups are being added to each day. Every year we try to give you the heads up on our early favourites to be the festivals to watch in 2017.

C2C Country To Country

2016 left a big pair of cowboy boots to fill with Miranda Lambert and Carrie Underwood headlining. Well the UK’s biggest country music festival isn’t shy and has booked Brad Paisley, Reba McEntire, and Zac Brown Band the take the top slots this year. It’s also worth keeping an eye out for the returning Chris Young and Darius Rucker, as well as the best new things from Nashville including Cam, Maren Morris and Brothers Osborne. If you’re making a weekend of it then there are the Festival Stages (previously known as the Pop Up Stages) that are filled with the best upcoming UK and US acts. Check out the festival website for all the details and info on tickets that are going fast.

Green Man

The Welsh festival is back for its fifteenth year and a birthday that’ll be celebrated in style with headliners of the calibre of PJ Harvey, Ryan Adams, and the inimitable Future Islands. Alongside the eclectic quality of the undercard - Angel Olsen, Field Music, Jessica Pratt, Sunflower Bean, Lambchop, Laura Gibson, Michael Kiwanuka, and more - are the variety of side areas that you can visist. Most of these are still to be announced but you can be sure of a relaxing retreat in the Brecon Beacons along with some of the best music the summer has to offer. Oh, and the terrific Hurray For The Riff Raff; worth the ticket price on their own. Visit the festival website for ticket details and more acts.
17th - 20th August 2017
Brecon Beacons, Wales

Now truly established the surfers top festival has upped its game in 2017 by including Jamiroquai and Alt-J among its headliners. Alongside the World Surf League COmpetitions the Cornish coast will play host to established names like The Flaming Lips, Vaccines, Pete Tong and Frank Turner. The real draw though, other than the August sunshine and surf, are the UK’s hottest acts like Stormzy and Loyle Carner. Tickets details and a bunch of other names on the lineup are available on their website.
9th - 13th August 2017
Newquay, Cornwall

Victorious Festival

Another new(ish) festival that really rammed a stake into the ground in 2016, Victorious has come up trumps with its lineup so far for 2017. As well as festival mainstays like Jake Bugg, Slaves, Franz Ferdinand and Sundara Karma, they’ve nailed it with the headliners. The smooth singalongs of Elbow, the ragged rock melodies of the Stereophonics, and the knees up dancing of Madness all make Portsmouth the place to be in late August. Go check out the Spinnaker Tower too if you have some spare time. There are loads more names to be announced and tickets are available from their website.
25th - 27th August 2017
