C2C Country To Country: Our thoughts on the spotlight stages

C2C Country To Country: Our thoughts on the spotlight stages

It's fair to say there was a mixed reaction on social media to our thoughts on the main C2C 2020 announcement, but rather than slighting any artists, our view highlights the high expectations that we have for C2C. Anyhow, everyone has their opinion, right?

And so, on to the Spotlight Stages. All nine acts to appear over the weekend have been announced, and there are some real exciting names on the list.

The main act we're excited about, possibly out of all the acts so far (including Eric and Luke), is Kassi Ashton. She's a whirlwind of creativity, despite only having released five songs in nearly two years. We spoke to her earlier in 2019, and you can get a flavour of her plan and her passion from our chat. Quite honestly, she's as exciting as it gets.

Willie Jones is a pretty new name, and he has a pretty new sound. Blending genres in a way that works for all, he'll be a fascinating watch. Another new name, who began on Instagram, such is the way in 2020, is Noah Schnacky. His more commercial sound is right on the money for C2C and is one of the up and coming artists that the festival does good by.

Gabby Barrett's 2019 was dominated by her debut single, 'I Hope', which made good ground on the US country charts. A fresh face for the UK, she'll likely be 2020's version of Abby Anderson who won crowds over in 2019.

Another artist destined for great things is Caylee Hammack who has been on our radar for a good while now. Her UK debut shows at C2C will be one of the must-see sets of the weekend. If you've heard of her you'll likely have heard 'Family Tree', her standout release so far.

The UK's Twinnie gets a long-awaited upgrade to the Spotlight Stage. After playing around the Pop-Up Stages over the last couple of years, and being part of the UK leg of the CMA Next Women Of Country tour, she'll bring her own brand of Yorkshire honesty to the O2 stage.

Also announced are Mitchell Tenpenny, Niko Moon, Kyle Daniel and Seaforth.
