Artists' Albums of 2016: Teleman

Hard working, it seems constantly touring, Teleman have had another terrifically busy and creatively rewarding year. Their electronica-meets-post–punk album Brilliant Sanity retained their joyful reputation while telling deeper stories of urban experience as it strolled into TMF’s Albums of 2016. The London based four-piece have shared their varied list of favourite albums from 2016 below, including two that remind us future years will forever be a little poorer.

David Bowie - Blackstar

Bowie has written an album that sounds classic and original at the same time. There’s always something to learn from the master.
Best track: ‘Lazarus’

Leonard Cohen - You Want It Darker

Cohen is one of the best songwriters of all time so you can play this album all the way through and enjoy every second.
Best track: ‘Leaving the Table’

Floating Points - Elaenia

Floating Points are probably the best sounding band in the world. Pure aural perfection.
Best track: ‘Silhouettes (I, II & III)’

A Tribe Called Quest - We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service

An amazing comeback from another legendary act. Activism in music is needed now more than ever, so thank God it sounds like this.
Best track: ‘We The People’

Kate Tempest - Let Them Eat Chaos

Great to hear an actual concept album, Kate tells stories like no one else and this album is urgent and astute. Read her book.
Best track: ‘Europe Is Lost’
