Artists' Albums of 2016: Margaret Glaspy

This year, New York’s Margaret Glaspy announced herself as one of the best guitarists and singers around, releasing her debut album Emotions and Math (described here in a TMF interview) to universal acclaim. In her live shows, Margaret covers fantastic artists with correspondingly fantastic back stories that join the dots to where she is as an artist today. All this means we can’t wait to read her favourite albums of 2016.

David Bowie - Blackstar

I'm very grateful for the last piece of music that Bowie left with us, and will always be moved by his constant evolution.

Julian Lage - Arclight

This record is a display of amazing guitar playing and heart. I love ‘Fortune Teller’.

Meshuggah - The Violent Sleep of Reason

I saw Meshuggah for the first time while we were on tour in Belgium just recently and was really in awe of their live show. I haven't really dove into this record yet but I saw the songs live and it was absolutely incredible.

Wilco - Schmilco

This record is wonderful. ‘Common Sense’ is one of my favorites.

A Tribe Called Quest - We Got It From Here, Thank You 4 Your Service

I love the sound of this record and it felt like a breath of fresh air.
