Kassidy obsessed by pussy

"Some of our songs are about hidden, clandestine secrets, things that you can't see but you know they're there...some of them are about girls...some of them are just rhythms and melodies and words. But when we play them, they sound like whatever you want them to be."

The Scottish, four piece band - Barrie James O'Neill, Hamish Fingland, Chris Potter and Lewis Andrew - first came to attention with the release of their Rubbergum" EP earlier this year. Making more noise with four acoustic guitars than most bands can muster with a wall of electrics, bass and drums., the group draw their roots from Americana, filtering it through a very Glaswegian pop sensibility -a juxtaposition of influences that is uniquely theirs. "We kind of take that acoustic West coast thing and shake it up in a pot with more modern influences", they say. "When it all gets going its like a wall of harmony.".

Kassidy are set to play major festivals this summer, kicking off at The Camden Crawl in London. With producer Jim Abiss (Arctic Monkeys, Kasabian, Noisettes, Stereophonics) at the helm theirs is a sound that is as idiosyncratic as it is diverse, and one which could easily define your summer.
