Senor Coconut & his Orchestra - Beat It

The law of diminishing returns applies to Senor Coconut. Following initially surprising covers of such tracks as Smooth Operator and Smoke on the Water, Coconut, for recording purposes the Chilean Uwe Schmidt on keyboards and three singers, delivers a version of Michael Jackson's Beat It, in the expected kitsch Latin style. Of course, it's intentionally tongue-in-cheek, but how amusing you'll find this, and for how long, I can't guarantee.

The hip breaks treatment afforded the remixes shows some take him at least semi-seriously, and, judging by the long and laidback Showroom Dummies, the Coconut experience translates well live.
