New Woman - Summer Collection
The problem with reviewing this compilation is to tell you anything you can't glean from simply posting the track listing and the title. From that you can deduce that the theme here is Summer, that it's perhaps aimed at a female audience and that it's an average compilation of recent chart hits, summer themed tracks and artists that the label want to give more exposure to.
Having listened to it, the problem it has is that it tends to shift genres pretty quickly, and some of the tracks don't fit the theme (Mad World isn't going to improve the party atmosphere at your barbecue, for example) and some are just plain bad (Natasha Beddingfield, I'm looking at you) - some of the artist here are also represented by their poorest singles, Kylie's Chocolate being inferior to almost every single she's released in the last decade, and Anastacia's "Left Outside Alone" being far superior to "Made For Lovin' You"
What it comes down to is simple - look at the track list, see how many of these you've already got, how many you think you want, and look at the competition for your money. This isn't a compilation you'll sit down and listen to, but it makes decent enough background music, and there's no denying that there's at least a few great singles on here.
