metaphrog, hey & múm - dreams never die to fc

This collaborative project brings together comic artists metaphrog, hey (a single musician, Helmut Erler), and múm (the Icelandic band). Louis, the little fella pictured to the left, is the subject of four metaphrog graphic novels, the latest Dreams Never Die tieing in with an enhanced CD which contains the two tracks under review and a brief animation accompanied by the múm version.

In either take, the song is a mix of melancholy vocals (in French) and kiddies' toy electronica. Anyone who's heard Sigur Ros - or even Bjork - will know how experimental and outlandish the Icelandic music scene is, so it comes as no surprise múm's version is the more delicate of the two (a feat) and takes the celestial elements to the extreme. Imagine the bubble bath dreaminess of Lemon Jelly's His Majesty King Raam - and you're still not even halfway there.
