The Concretes Release You Can't Hurry Love, 14th June 2004

Much lauded Swedish Octet, The Concretes, release their debut UK single You Can't Hurry Love on Licking Fingers / EMI Records on 14th June.

Following on from their debut EP, Say Something New, they return with another slice of gorgeous Scando pop echoing sounds of the 60s girl groups and Mazzy Star which NME enthused is a "Bona fide pop hit".

More like a weird family than a conventional pop group, The Concretes are anti-rock and exquisite, pro-pop, brand new and unique. They sound like a clear night in November, standing high above the city, with a not-quite-identifiable yearning in your heart. It could fill your eyes at any moment.

You Can't Hurry Love was produced by Jari Haapalainen and will be released on 7" and enhanced CD:

The Concretes will release their eponymous debut album in June which will coincide with their appearance at Glastonbury Festival.
