King Tubby Anthology From Trojan Records
Trojan Records is delighted to announce the July 12, 2004 release of the definitive anthology of one of reggae's most influential figures, King Tubby - In Fine Style. This two CD set features many tracks previously unissued outside Jamaica, and has been digitally remastered to recreate the full impact that the music originally intended.
Osbourne Ruddock better known as King Tubby was one of the most important and innovative figures in modern popular music. Working from a small 4-track home studio in the tough Waterhouse district of West Kingston, Tubby's electrifying and often wildly avant garde dub remixes redefined the role of the recording engineer during the mid 1970s.
Using some of the toughest roots rhythms of the mid to late seventies this collection of the King's heaviest dub, vocal and instrumental mixes is the first ever compilation to bring together Tubby's collaborations with groundbreaking producers, such as Rupie Edwards, Derrick Harriott, Keith Hudson, Bunny Lee, Augustus Pablo, Lee Perry and Winston Riley.
