Pete does his bit for charity
The Rhythm Factory is immensely proud to announce a special event in memory of legendary London promoter Jonny ‘Rhythm’ Sedassy. An integral part of The Rhythm Factory’s long, proud history, the much-missed Jonny helped launch the careers of numerous high-profile bands including The Libertines, The Noisettes, The View and many more during his hugely successful five year career with the legendary East London venue.
This evening will feature live sets by top names that played at the venue on their way to the top, on Jonny’s promotional bills, and are appearing at no cost to help make the evening a success. This impressive line-up features; Peter Doherty, fresh from the release of new album Wasteland / Graceland, The Paddingtons, Red Roots, Melody Nelson and more. Also, behind the decks there will be a DJ set by top secret celebrity DJ duo ‘Team Disgusting’, whose identities will remain top secret until the doors open on the night.
Jonny Sedassy passed away on March 16th of this year after a battle with Bowel Cancer and spent his last days in the Michael Sobell Hospice in Oxford. This evening is to raise awareness of the Michael Sobell Charity and to raise money for the hospice with all proceeds from ticket sales going to the organisation.
The purpose of the charity is to support the Sir Michael Sobell House Hospice in providing palliative and end of life care to the residents of Oxfordshire. The hospice currently costs over £3 million a year to run, much of which is raised through the support and generosity of individuals and companies throughout the community.
The Rhythm Factory and the Sir Michael Sobell Hospice would like to thank all those who are giving their time to support this evening.
Tickets are £25 in advance from www.ticketweb.co.uk or direct from the Rhythm Factory, 16-18 Whitechapel Road, London, E1 1EW, 020 7375 3774. £30 on the door.
