News round-up: New Franz single and Blood Red Shoes dates
Franz Ferdinand have announced details of the release of a new single, No You Girls, through Domino on April 6th 2009.
Taken from their recent album, Tonight: Franz Ferdinand, the single will also feature remixes from the legendary Vince Clarke, Noze and John Disco.
The single was produced by Dan Carey and the band as part of the album sessions which took place at the band’s own HQ in Govan, Glasgow and Carey’s South London studio.
Meanwhile, Blood Red Shoes are returning for 3 live shows before they go into the studio to record.
Steve Ansell and Laura-Mary Carter will be taking this opportunity to test drive some eagerly awaited new material and of course run through tracks from their debut album ‘Box Of Secrets’, that exploded onto the scene back in Spring 08.
Always ones for a live show, BRS stopped off in almost every European city you can name last year and are eager to get on stage again as Steve expresses below;
“We've taken a few months off from playing live to concentrate on material for the 2nd album. We're getting itchy feet to play the songs and get a feel for how they work live. You never really know if a song stands up or not until you play it with all the adrenaline of a live show so we've booked a few smaller shows to try stuff out, we'll be playing mostly all new stuff, to get it in shape before we head into the studio to record it all”.
