Blink-182 - I Miss You
Showing that the occasional song works better when separated from their parent album, I Miss You doesn't sound half as awkward as it first did on Blink 182's eponymous last album. Instead, whilst never graceful and never quite so helplessly lovelorn to break away from its punk roots - see Jawbreaker's Do You Still Hate Me? from 24 Hour Revenge Therapy for an example of how this sort of thing should be done - I Miss You is a sturdy enough love song, which might bring in a few fans unfamiliar with the band's earlier material.
As with the album that accompanied it, I Miss You is the sound of Blink 182 growing up and whilst its rough shape is evidence of how tricky that looks to be, this might be the sort of thing to give Blink 182 a chance of moving on from recording videos that feature them running naked through the streets.
