LAST MAN STANDING ANNOUNCE THE RELEASE OF THEIR DEBUT ALBUM

LAST MAN STANDING release their debut album "FALSE STARTS AND BROKEN PROMISES" on Monday 16th April.

They are London's best kept live secret and were recently called, "The best unsigned band in London" by The Guardian.

Operating as a guerrilla force, this nine-piece band will gig anywhere - not since The Sex Pistols has there been a band so hungry to steal stages. Fronted by the Yank, Max Vanderwolf, these downtrodden and bedraggled misfits are transformed as soon as they hit the boards into the Nine Musketeers. They live and die for rock'n'roll.

LAST MAN STANDING perform with panache. They are not afraid to mix and match, all colours collide. It’s one moment full tilt rockin' and the next veers recklessly into the fragile. It's all delicately laced with the ten flavors of bitterness. They mash drunken blues with dirty country, full-on rock with city slick jazz and they make you laugh, make you dance, all the while transporting you to a place where the Dolls rub shoulders with Zappa, Steely Dan melt with David Bowie. This is FUN, people, get ready for the ride.

"FALSE STARTS AND BROKEN PROMISES" was recorded against great odds (the tale will be told...), under great constraints but with great ambition. Featuring 10 songs written by Vanderwolf, this album rails against all our common concerns. It tells stories that will warp your mind, stories that will involve your heart, and has melodies that will carry you down city streets while its beats skitter your senses. It brings back the big band concept: raw decadence collides with electric menace. It swings, it sways, it sashays down life’s highways. This is a record that will become a friend, you will play it to lovers and friends and they will radiate.

Songs like, "Queen Kong" and "The Dean Street Stumble" are and will become anthems to our mutual dissolution, and what does one make of songs like "Everything Must Go" and "The Climb"? They echo prime time Reed and Roxy (not forgetting Alex Harvey) cabaret at its earthiest and finest. "Go Home" draws the curtain down upon majestic riffs while percussion and keyboards swirl around in the mix. Go home indeed. Then on comes "Theme for the Last Man Standing", urging you to go back to the beginning and press the start button all over again.

"FALSE STARTS AND BROKEN PROMISES" delivers. Like records from the past that one lived with, got to know inside out and today can sing along with word perfectly. "False Starts and Broken Promises" will remain true and will not let you down.
