CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy) - Dingwalls London

CSS (Cansei de Ser Sexy) played one of the most exciting sets I've seen all year when they took to the stage of London's Dingwalls.
Brazil's finest export hit the Capital for a headline performance supported by Scots rockers - 1990's.
Having previously caught the band at Glasgow's Indian Summer festival I knew how lively their performance would be so approached a position front of stage with trepidation.
When the band kicked off their set with album opener "C.S.S Suxx" I knew I was in for a rough ride as the audience went ballistic,I held my ground in the hope of getting some good pictures!
The six piece bands album is a cross between Electro and Rock with a bit of Punk thrown in.Their live performances are far slacker than their recorded work with the sleezy Rock side coming to the front.Lead singer Lovefoxx didn't stand still for a moment, seemingly as happy in the audience as on stage.
The band played most of their self titled debut album including "**** off is not the only thing you have to show", "Off the hook" and "Art Bitch".The biggest cheer of the night was kept for the band's current single "Lets make love and listen to Death From Above".Every song on the band's album is extremely catchy and when paired with CSS's onstage exuberance it made for a gig that's in my "Top 3" of the year.
I may have had to put up with getting crushed at the front and having a girl drum along to every song on my back but I'll certainly be down the front for CSS's show at The Scala in November.

You can listen to two tracks (including the single) on the bands My Space page.

Nov 5th Belfast Radar Club
Nov 6th Dublin Whelans

Nov 10th Leeds Cockpit
