Various (mixed by Axwell) - Ministry Of Sound Sessions
Axwell has a knack of making the art of remixing look easy. There's the sense he could take any tune and turn it into a brazenly populist club number. He's as famous for sprinkling the magic dust on Hard Fi's Hard to Beat as his own hit, Feel The Vibe. (For now, we'll try to forget he is one of the producers behind Supermode.)
The first disc here includes three Axwell remixes amongst the twelve tracks. All sound - for want of a better word - huge. World, Hold On is now far less annoying, thanks to that whistling being omitted. He also does a good job of finding the dancefloor hooks within Nelly Furtado's Promiscuous and Lorraine's Transatlantic Flight. CD one is home too to some fine mashups, allowing another (welcome) outing for Underworld's Two Months Off.
Besides consisting entirely of others' material, the second disc mostly casts aside the vocals. In this respect it's slightly less commercial. The uplifting Axwell vibe still pervades, however; DJ Gregory's And in particular pushing ever skywards.
House fans are sure to enjoy this entry in the Sessions series. Released with autumn just around the corner, it's the sound of summer coming back up on you.
