Taking Back Sunday - Twenty-Twenty Surgery

Taking Back Sunday are a band who, whilst a reasonable success in their homeland, have yet to make much of an impression in the UK. Hailing from the town of Amityville (although not from the house on the hill you'll be relieved to hear) they are booked for the Leeds and Reading festivals, and tour in the Autumn as part of the Taste of Chaos tour, in support of their third album Louder Now.

And its that emo/rock/punk sound, that head-down it all sounds the same whiny metal that you'll hear a dozen times over at Reading, with no real spark to catch light those musical flames. To be honest, you'd stand there, maybe listen to a couple of songs, and then wander off. The intro crashes in good and loud but with no real melody or skill, just a standard song that gets loud, gets quiet, and gets noisy again. Just a lot of shouting and noise and too little substance.
