Betty Curse - God This Hurts

Well, I'm not blowing the dust of my old Sisters of Mercy and Mission albums just yet, but Observer Music Monthly recently said that this is going to be the summer of Goth (not really the weather for it, but why argue?). Betty Curse has been causing a real stir on the live scene, who at the age of only 19 has teamed up with Steve Ludwin (former Little Hell frontman) to craft this highly infectious piece of teenage angst.

There is no denying that this is a great little song, with a crashing chorus and some brilliant guitar pop. The intro thumps and pounds into a song Charlotte Hatherley would murder her old band for. The album Here Lies Betty Curse is due for release in October, a far more fitting and gloomy time of year for a Goth revival. On the strength of this single, Betty's snotty melodies could just be the thing to make your Autumn.
