Various - Driving With Disney
I can't really imagine who would soundtrack their driving excursions with the likes of Aladdin, Mary Poppins and those seven troublesome dwarves. However, this CD is aiming at that niche in the market. Any childless adult with a driving license who purchases this is something of a (quite scary) enigma. Kiddies, though, will no doubt love it.
There's no real distinguishing features between the two CDs besides the fact that Disc 2 features a number of those nauseating ballads at the start - I'm talking A Whole New World, Part of Your World and even Phil Collins singing You'll Be in My Heart from Tarzan. Disney toons old and new are catered to from the likes of The Jungle Book and The Aristocats (it's quite shocking how easily you'll remember the lyrics to Everybody Wants to Be a Cat) to Mulan and Chicken Little. The highlight for me is Randy Newman's You've Got a Friend in Me from Toy Story, admittedly one of the few songs here that you could admit to owning in public without being heckled.
It's pretty much a predictable affair, considering the source material. You've got your Hakuna Matata and your Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious and everything in between, and that's basically it. Children will love it and for everyone else it will provide something of a nostalgia trip but, c'mon, driving material? Whose crazy idea was that?
