Buzzcocks - Sell You Everything

With Spiral Scratch 30 years behind us, it is somewhat heartening to see a band like Buzzcocks still plodding on. Recent album Flat-Pack Philosophy was well received, showing that there is life in Shelley and Diggle's ability to still knock out a capable tune.

Sell You Everything is lifted from this album and is a short, muscular piece of music, reminding me very much of early 90's band Compulsion - fast paced, deep vocals low in the mix of guitars and crashing drums. It stands head and shoulders above the two other songs on this single - production varies from track to track, leaving 16 sounding leaden and lumpy and Every Day and Every Night perhaps just a little bit too crisp and clean. The lead track though is a pretty good song and a fine advert for the album.
