From the PR material:

What could be more enjoyable than lazing away a Sunday afternoon, soaking up laid back beats and jazz infused music in the grounds of one of England’s finest stately homes? London’s famous Jazz Café is about to leave the confines of their legendary Camden based club and set up home in the stunning grounds of Marble Hill, near Richmond, on Sunday 13th August. The artist line-ups are guaranteed to set music gourmands salivating in anticipation of a feast of beats, as well as pork pies, potato wedges, and pink champagne… so pop those corks, dust off your picnic hampers and get your blankets a-ready!

This all-day event is open to young people, music fans and families, and is a refreshing alternative to the ever-increasing popular rock festivals. The crowd is made up of all ages and particularly attracts the former clubbing generation who, armed with babies, buggies and toddlers are happy to swap hot n‘ sweaty, soulful house for chilled-out, soulful jazz in the lovely British outdoors. The setting of Marble Hill is truly picturesque: the large grounds are leafy green and guests pitch up their picnics on the lawns which gently slope from the stunning Palladian villa which dates from 1729, down to the main stage and on towards the River Thames.

The live programme on the day is intentionally eclectic to represent the wide variety of music presented at the Jazz Cafe itself throughout the year. The following fantastic groups are slated to be performing this summer at Marble Hill:

* Zero 7 - popular laid-back timeless soul with an electronic edge
* Femi Kuti and the Positive force – politically active Afro-beat hero and his 24 piece Collective
* Nouvelle Vague - French Bossa Nova versions of new wave classics such as "Teenage Kicks" & "Making plans for Nigel"
* Breakestra - timeless live funk crew from L.A. who’s live sets are reminiscent of the very best hip hop DJ sets
* Koop - fresh jazz-tronica
* Snowboy & The Latin Section - Europe's premier afro-cuban jazz ensemble

The Jazz Café Picnic will only have one Summer jolly this year so there will not be Kenwood House event. The grounds of Marble Hill are sheltered by tall trees and slope gently from the stunning Palladian villa which dates from 1729, down to the river Thames.

Artist Programmer for the Jazz Café Picnic, Adrian Gibson says, “Zero 7 enjoyed rapturous success when they played the opening year of the Jazz Cafe Picnic's at Marble Hill so we’re delighted to have them back by popular demand along with a quality jazz and soul line up!”

The Jazz Café concert commences at lunchtime. Tickets are £35 in advance and are available by calling 0870 060 3775. Guests are allowed to bring picnics and drinks but can also take advantage of the onsite bars. Under Fives are allowed in for free. The event is organised by the Mean Fiddler Organisation who are responsible for the ‘Carling Weekend: Reading and Leeds’. Every precaution will be taken to ensure the event is run as smoothly and safely guaranteeing guest satisfaction. With tickets available for 8,000 people and both previous events both sold out well in advance, the Jazz Café recommends people purchase as soon as possible.
