Gogol Bordello - Koko London

Gogol Bordello are a New York based band led by Ukranian Eugene Hutz. The front man draws his inspiration from Ukranian gypsy culture and adds infuences from Ska, Punk and Reggae to make the Gogol Bordello sound.
Hutz and his gang of rebels were in town to promote their most recent album "Gypsy Punks - Underdog World Strike, playing several of the tracks live.
Eugene Hutz is a charismatic performer and one of the most hard working frontmen I've seen on stage in recent years.
He spends a lot of the set invading the audience,at times perched on a bouncers shoulders while his army of fans reach out for a touch of their hero.
Gogol Bordello aren't just a one man show.Pam Racine and Elizabeth Sun join in with dancing and percussion playing, adding some spice into the mix, giving the performance a Vaudeville flavour.Violinist Sergey Rjabtzev and accordionist Yuri Lemeshev both play front of the stage, adding to the chaos.
A Gogol Bordello show is a high energy spectacle making them a "Must see" band if you get the chance.
The band return to the UK to play the Love Box Festival in London on July the 23rd and will also be appearing at the Reading and Leeds Festivals at the end of August.
