The Lines - Live dates and info
Wolverhampton-based band The Lines are to embark on a mini-tour of the West Midlands, commencing this Friday.
The four-piece band have built up a large and enthusiastic following in the three years they have been touring, and are at the forefront of the Wolverhampton music scene. Frontman Alex Ohms, who possesses 'a fantastic voice, similar to Richard Ashcroft' (Kerrang Radio, May 2006), cites the band's primary influences as Radiohead, The Verve, Doves, I Am Kloot, and Spiritualised. Although they are currently unsigned, they are generating the kind of local buzz that the Arctic Monkeys may have been familiar with before they hit the big time. Support slots for bands such as The Paddingtons, Howling Bells, Little Man Tate, and The Electric Soft Parade have also raised their profile. It looks like they will soon be following in the footsteps of Editors, a band who they headlined over back in 2004.
The band's website is currently under construction but you can visit their MySpace here.
The live dates are as follows:
Friday 30 July - WOLVERHAMPTON - The Varsity
Saturday 1 July - WALSALL - Wharf 10 Bar
Monday 3 July - WOLVERHAMPTON - The Little Civic (with the Maccabees)
Wednesday 5 July - BIRMINGHAM - Barfly (with The Heights)
Friday 7 July - LEICESTER - The Looking Glass
Look out for a live review of the Maccabees show next week!
