Country and Americana news round-up

There's always a spurt of music news at this time of year, especially in the run-up to the annual Country To Country (C2C) festival in London, Glasgow, and Dublin. We'll round up as much as we can fit in.

Ashley Monroe returns with her long-awaited new record, Sparrow, due 20th April. Produced by Dave Cobb it includes tracks co-written with the likes of Angaleena Presley, Anderson East, Jon Randall, Nicole Gaylon, and Brendan Benson.

A London headline show for Lukas Nelson and Promise Of The Real has been announced for 10th July at The Garage in London. Tickets are on sale on Thursday and will likely sell out quickly.

Former American Idol Scotty McCreery couldn't have moved further away from the confines of that TV show and its subsequent contract with his new record, Seasons Change, due 16th March.

Critical faves Birds Of Chicago have announced 4th May as the date for their new album Love In Wartime.

One of our faves Lindi Ortega has announced the UK release of her new album. Liberty is out 25th May in the UK (30th March in the US). It's a three-act concept album and sounds stunning. Lindi will be touring the UK in June to support. More details on her website.

Returning in April is country megastar Jason Aldean, with his follow-up to 2016's They Don't Know. Due 13th April, Rearview Town continues the Georgian singer's rockification of country.

The legendary Willie Nelson also continues his prolific late-career period with Last Man Standing, due 27th April.

Luke Combs follows up his C2C appearance with a full UK tour in October. Visiting Birmingham, Glasgow, Manchester and London. Visit his website for full details.

Dave Cobb's also producing the new one from Lori McKenna, titled The Tree, it's due in July. No official announcement as yet though.

C2C headliner Kacey Musgraves has announced her third album. Due 30th March Golden Hour has been trailed by the fantastic 'Space Cowboy' and 'Butterflies'.

Finally, Anderson East is returning to the UK to play two intimate shows in Manchester and London in May. Full details are on his website.
