Artist's Albums of 2017: The Wandering Hearts
We asked some friendly acts to tell us who released some of their favourite albums in 2017. The Wandering Hearts had a bit of a breakout year and have been influenced by some of the artists that they've chosen in their selection of albums of 2017.
Chris Stapleton - Songs From A Room Vol 1
All: With Chris Stapleton being one of our band’s biggest influences, we were so excited for a new studio album in 2017. Since its release, it has been a mainstay in the tour bus and once again, he has shown why he continues to be the best in his genre. His voice and his songcraft are second to none. 'Either Way' is a definite candidate for song of the year too!
The Cadillac Three - Legacy
AJ: Been following The Cadillac Three for a year so was really excited about this album and it hasn't disappointed. A totally badass selection from them which makes me wanna be in Tennessee with every listen.
HAIM - Something To Tell You
Chess: Something To Tell You takes me back to the pop music I listened to growing up - great tunes and catchy hooks but lyrically, it’s really saying something too. HAIM are making music they want to make and it’s a bit of a statement.
Laura Marling - Semper Femina
Tara: Laura Marling's voice is so pure on this and her lyrics are so evocative, completely taking you on a journey through song. I also loved that every song on this album was related to women and the many bonds and experiences we face.
Little Big Town - The Breaker
Tim: The Breaker is a perfect example of mature, pop writing that appeals to all ages. It has a timeless feel and the flow of the album is perfect. Songwriting at its finest without hiding behind excessive production.
