Numbers is the surprise new video from Esther Vallee
Having recently released her new single Numbers, Swedish indie-pop artist Esther Vallee today releases the playful and somewhat dark and unexpected video to accompany the single. Its very fitting for this time of year.
The video was written by Joakim Carlsson and co-produced with his partner Sverre Wegge Grundhus of Good Company NYC. Speaking about the video Esther explains, "We wanted to show a totally different side of the story in Numbers. The contrast of what everyone is expecting me to do. The script is very dark but still with a touch of humour. Thats what I love about it. And still the story is written about the lyrics in the song but with the twist. I wanna show the secrets we have, the real truth about dark inner thoughts that we dont wanna reveal because were ashamed."
"In the video I'm kind of the devil in their minds who tells them your secret will be safe with me. Im the one who helps them to mask their forbidden wishes and dreams, by killing them."
The 24 year-old from Gottenberg, Sweden released Numbers at the end of October which saw an influx of online support from the likes of The Line Best Fit, Pop Justice, CLASH to name a few.
Her music has been described as laid back electronic pop with an underlying melancholy, creating a unique and playful sound. New single Numbers is the perfect example of this.
Speaking about Numbers, Esther explains, "The song is about dark forbidden love. By using codes, you disguise the love to hide it for the outside world. Destructive with a great mix of passion."
