Manchester Arena Set To Reopen With Benefit Concert

It has been announced that Manchester Arena will officially reopen on the 9th September with a benefit concert for those affected by the incident in May.

Entitled We Are Manchester, the gig will feature some of the city's most famous names. Confirmed acts so far include Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Courteeners, Blossoms and Rick Astley.

Councillor Sue Murphy, deputy leader of Manchester City Council, said: "Those who perpetrate terrorist attacks want to divide us and stifle our freedoms. No one will ever forget the terrible events of 22 May but Manchester has reacted with love, solidarity and a determination to continue doing the things which make this such a vibrant city."

All profits raised from the event will go to the Manchester Memorial Fund to help fund a permanent memorial for the attack.

Tickets will go on sale at 9am tomorrow morning (Thursday 17th August). Further information on the event, ticket sales and the Manchester Memorial Fund can be found on the Manchester Arena website.

We need your help

Running a website like The Digital Fix - especially one with over 20 years of content and an active community - costs lots of money and we need your help. As advertising income for independent sites continues to contract we are looking at other ways of supporting the site hosting and paying for content.

You can help us by using the links on The Digital Fix to buy your films, games and music and we ask that you try to avoid blocking our ads if you can. You can also help directly for just a few pennies per day via our Patreon - and you can even pay to have ads removed from the site entirely.
