Kiran Leonard Shares 'Could She Still Draw Back?'
After announcing the details of his forthcoming album 'Derevaun Seraun', Kiran Leonard has this week shared the opening track, 'Could She Still Draw Back?'
Taking inspiration from a short story by James Joyce, the song looks at the tale of a young girl trapped between the allure of a new place and the familiarity of home.
"I think that this is a conflict that most can relate to; everybody espouses the virtues of travel, but it takes a special sort of person to uproot and abandon their world in pursuit of something else," says Leonard.
Premiered on Monday (7th August) on BBC 6 Music, the song can now be heard through his Soundcloud or Youtube channels.
'Derevaun Seraun' will be the third album from the 21-year-old Mancunian and will be released on Moshi Moshi records on 15th September. Leonard will also be going on a UK tour to coincide with the release, accompanied by a string trio performing the album in full.
