Skott releases video for 'Mermaid'
Mermaid is the scintillating sound of this innovative young Swedish musician sweeping back with her finest work yet, extending her range, and boldly resetting the bar for the dark, brooding atmospheric leftfield pop that she’s become so confident in delivering.
Mermaid will already be familiar to those that have caught Skott live, and memorable for a quite exquisite vocal performance. It’s further proof that alongside the likes of Porcelain, Wolf, Amelia, and Glitter & Gloss, Skott has more than one standout track in her arsenal which already puts her three giant steps ahead of her immediate peers.
A very vocal fan of video game music composition whilst growing up, Skott’s introduction to songwriting was initially paid in homage to those curious, kooky sounds. Its influence has led Skott to using an unorthodox, intricate way of piecing together her music. Mermaid, however it was formed, is her finest work yet.
Skott on Mermaid: “It all started with Mermaid. It was actually one of the first songs I started writing, but it took this long for me to see it to where it is now.
“It feels incredibly special that I can finally release it into the world."
