British Tree Power
British Sea Power were required to cancel a UK gig in High Wycombe last night, ( 24 November) when the bands bassist Hamilton injured a wrist in a strange tree based accident. However, the Northampton show at “Soundhaus” will go ahead with an alternative bass player.
The bassist’s injury happened after he climbed a Beech tree to prune a few branches for the bands (almost ritual) stage decoration. Then in as the band put it “Keystone Kops style”, he sawed through the very branch he was hanging from. The resultant fall ended in Hamilton having a badly sprained wrist which made playing the show at yesterdays High Wycombe gig unfeasible.
A Copper Beech Tree, Yesterday
The band are convinced that Hamilton will be back on bass for British Sea Powers upcoming support slot with The Strokes on their December tour of the UK.
