The Upper Room - Combination

Converted from bedroom dj/dance producer, to the more guitar-based side of music after hearing and falling in love with Phil Spector's wall of sound technique, Alex Miller set about forming The Upper Room in his home town of Brighton.

Set on a mission to expose their take on the darker side of pop, this 4-piece have taken elements from Joy Division/New Order and The Smiths, mixed with a clear individuality of their own. In Miller, there is a frontman showing all the traits of becoming a national star on terms of quintessential Britishness .

On the scene since 2004, they are finally putting out releases, ‘Combination’ being the first single from their debut LP. Having toured with Longview and Electric Soft Parade in the last two years, this may well not be the first time you have heard of the band. It probably won’t be the last either.
