Festival news round-up: 9th April 2015

It’s nearly the tail end of festival announcement season as the summer festivals put the final touches to their fully headlinered line-ups.

For those that fancy more than just music and beer from their festivals more details are emerging about Wildfire Adventure Camp an activity and music based festival. During the day activities like expeditions, bushcraft, artistry and adventure sports will be available before the evening when music, posh food, and craft beers make their appearance. The music line-up has been finalised but the twist is that names won’t be revealed until festival goers arrive on site. And no electronic devices are allowed on site either. A more standard set-up is Lytham Festival, running 2nd-9th August, which has announced McBusted as Saturday headliners, and acts like Rae Morris, Rebecca Ferguson and Scouting For Girls for their new Pavillion stage
In addition an 80s vs 90s night of music will showcase the likes of Billy Ocean, Vengaboyz, Sinitta, and Chesney Hawkes. Tickets are priced from £15 and available now.

Standon Calling adds more names to its tenth birthday line-up, mainly to the renamed Last Chance Saloon tent. Loose Music curate the Friday night with The Magic numbers, Danny & The Champions Of The World, Treetop Flyers, The Goat Roper Rodeo Band. On the Saturday Bella Union take over with Ezra Furman, PINS, Zun Zun Egui and Peter Broderick among others. Then a whole bunch of dance acts and DJs take over The Cowshed at night. Tickets for the weekend are available from £127.

The new Forgotten Fields festival, from the organisers of sold out Kendal Calling, adds more names: Razorlight, Johnny Borrell & Zazou, Fickle Friends, Common Tongues and Eden Circle. As well as music there is Tim Peaks cake and coffee, The Late Night Cinema, and a variety of Q&As. Taking place at Eridge Park, Sussex on 7th to 9th August, final tier one tickets are on sale now.

Another festival celebrating ten years is Gatesheads SummerTyne Americana Festival. And it’s announced its first set of acts including headliners Emmylou Harris & Rodney Crowell, and Rosanne Cash & John Leventhal. Also on a strong first list of names are: Dan Penn & Spooner Oldham, The Shires, Jace Everett, Gruff Rhys, The Felice Brothers, and Ward Thomas. vTaking place 17th – 19th July tickets are available now from the festival website.

Finally Latitude has announced its Huw Stephens curated Lake Stage Arena line-up: Claire Maguire, Neon Waltz, Prides, Charlie Cunningham, Clarence Charity, Denai Moore, Man Made, Pretty Vicious, To Kill A King. The full line-up so far and ticket information is all on the festival website
