Write for us!
Outside? What is this 'outside' you talk about? Ours is a life chained to a desk with the letters of our keyboards imprinted on our fingertips. All for you, dear reader.
Anyway, we have a few vacancies. By 'vacancies' we mean positions where you join our team of unpaid sloggers to write stuff about music. Honesty is how we roll. In particular, we're looking for some new faces to help with the following:
We get offered a lot of indie stuff that we're currently not covering. If you lean towards the slightly more left-of-field of that loose label, we could maybe find a spot for you. You'll have a concise writing style ('cos no-one - no-one! - wants to read 2000 words on Belgian post-rock beardoes) but we'll be happy to cut you loose if artist interviews, gig reviews or features are more your thing.
If you like 'dance' music, in all its variations, you could helm our monthly Dirty Dancing column, which has been MIA for too long now. Alongside an in-depth knowledge of the scene, you'll have an engaging style that will encourage readers to get their dancing shoes on and hit the floor. You'll be expected to work with existing labels and contacts with regards promo materials, and you'll have the opportunity to speak with artists and labels for supporting features.
On top of that anyone who just fancies coming on board as a reviewer is more than welcome to drop us a message - we're looking for writers of all sorts so don't be shy!
It would be preferable if you had previous writing experience that you could showcase - even if it is just your own blog. We've won awards! Somehow. That will look smashing on your CV.
More than anything, we value enthusiasm and commitment. Don't roll up, do us two reviews and then piss off. We hate that.
