Festival news round-up

With so many festivals cranking up their updates in advance of the forthcoming season, here's a summary of some of the stuff that's landed on the virtual mat in recent days:

Kendal Calling have added over 60 new acts to the roster of this year's event. New names include Doves' Jim Goodwin, Frightened Rabbit, Lewis Watson, Admiral Fallow, Team Me, Black Rivers and many more.

The festival runs from 1-3 August at Lowther Deer Park, Hackthorpe. For ticket details, visit the official website.

Wilderness Festival have added Joan as Policewoman, Slow Club, Chet Faker, Jack Savoretti, Teleman, Hozier, Josh Record to their lineup. They join the likes of Metronomy, Burt Bacharach, London Grammar, Jessie Ware with the Wilderness Orchestra, Sam Smith, Joan as Policewoman and Connan Mockasin.

Wilderness Festival takes place on 7-10 August at Cornbury Park, Oxfordshire. Weekend Tickets: £143.50 +BF. Children aged 10 or under: £5. All tickets are available via the festival website

The Pogues are the latest act to be announced as part of the Forestry Commission’s Forest Live annual concert series. They play on Saturday 14 June at Thetford Forest, Nr Brandon, Suffolk.

Tickets are £41.25 (including £3.75 booking fee) and go on sale at 9.00am Friday 28 March from the Forestry Commission box office tel 03000 680400 or buy online at the festival website.

Five Star have confirmed they will join the main-stage line-up of the biggest at RELOAD festival, their only UK festival appearance in 2014. They will join The Human League, Billy Ocean, Sister Sledge, Jason Donovan, Heaven 17, Aswad, Bjorn Again and The Real Thing on the Sunday main stage line-up.

Farmfest takes place on Friday 1st – Saturday 2nd August 2014 at Gilcombe Farm, Bruton, Somerset. Confirmed acts so far include Public Service Broadcasting, Melt Yourself Down, Alpines, Beaty Heart, Laid Blak, Jus Now Live, Skinny Lister, Emily and The Woods, The Fire Beneath The Sea, Beans on Toast, The Sounds of Harlowe, Gorgeous George, Gemini (Kelle & Borei), Ukes of Hazard and Firewood Island.

Festibelly returns to the heart of The New Forest on 11-12 July at Undershore, Lymington, Hampshire, SO41 5QA. Line-up details will be announced soon. Keep an eye on Festibelly for more details.

Blissfields have added 2ManyDJs and Sleigh Bells to its 2014 event this July 3rd to 5th, with Hercules And Love Affair, Chloe Howl, Tune-Yards, Dan Croll, Snakehips, Luke Sital Singh, Nick Mulvey, also now also confirmed. Blissfields takes place on 3-5 July at Vicarage Farm, Hampshire. For more details, visit the festival website.
