Sound Island Festival - Saturday - Quex Park, Birchington
Sound Island Festival tales place at Quex Park in Birchington. The two day event showcases a host of chart-friendly acts, featuring household names alongside up-and-coming artistes.
Saturday's line up included X Factor winner James Arthur and new kid on the block Little Nikki, who shone on stage but was an ever bigger star after her set as she spent absolutely ages chatting to new found fans and posing for pictures with them. Now that's how you establish a fan base!
The high spot of the day was the performance from Rita Ora, who seems to get better each time I see her, with 'Radioactive' and 'Hot Right Now' set stand outs.
Soulful rapper Plan B headlined the event but I didn't stay to see his set. Sound Island had been blessed with glorious weather until about 30 minutes before Rita's 8pm stint, when the heavens opened! Thunder and lightning were the order of the day and it was just horrendous. I can't say I'm a fan of Mr B so plan A was get back to the station as soon as I could, getting drenched during my 30 minute dash!
